For years now, pediatrician Dale Nordenberg has been battling within the U.S. to ensure that medical device security is given proper attention and regulation. But it’s a global concern, and his cause recently received a warm reception in Brazil.

In a video interview at Information Security Media Group's recent Cybersecurity Summit Brazil, Nordenberg discusses:

  • Progress made in improving medical device security;
  • Gaps still to be addressed;
  • The global device security outlook for 2020.

Nordenberg is an executive director of the Medical Device Innovation, Safety and Security Consortium and CEO of the consulting firm Novasano Health and Science. He's the former CIO of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He also co-chairs the Medical Device Security Information Sharing Council for the National Health Information Sharing and Analysis Center.
